Then we do puzzles about that topic. If the puzzle is hard, he doesn't just tell us the answer. He gives us small hints so we can try to figure it out ourselves. If we get it wrong, he explains the answer step by step and makes sure we understand it.
He also looks at my chess games and shows me what mistakes I made. Then he explains what I should have done instead. After that, we do puzzles about the things I got wrong so I can learn from my mistakes.
Because of this, when I get a similar position in one of my games, I know what to do. I play it correctly and sometimes even win the game. It has also helped me do better in chess tournaments.
I like his lessons because they are fun, interesting, and help me improve a lot. I think I have become a much better chess player because of him.

What age should my child start chess?
We accept students from age 5 onward. Younger children join our First Moves program, which teaches through games and stories rather than notation-heavy lessons.
My child has never played chess before. Is that okay?
Completely. Most students start as complete beginners. Every new student gets a free skill assessment so they're placed in the right program from the very first class.
Is it one-on-one or group classes?
Both are available. Many families start with one-on-one for a faster ramp-up, then add small group classes once their child has a foundation, for peer play and friendly competition.
What platform do live classes run on?
Classes run in our live interactive classroom with a shared digital board and video, so the coach and student can both move pieces and talk in real time.
Can we reschedule or pause classes?
Yes, classes can be rescheduled with reasonable notice, and programs can be paused for school exams or travel. Your coach will work around your family's calendar.
